While I was reading the article I was really hoping that Jordan was a white kid. Alas, he wasn't. The article cites that his mom doesn't want his death to be thought of as a hate crime (I'm assuming she means a racial hate crime), but it's hard not to go there. It could also be a crime of an old person "hating" the hooligan youth.
In any case, the addage is "guns don't kill people, people kill people." Yep, he killed someone. He didn't know it at the time, but when he found out, he drove home instead of driving to the police station. He's gonna claim the "stand your ground" defense. I really wish that defense didn't exist.
