Don't say Gay ... Don't say Mental Health

Thanks, TN. Just when I was thinking ab running away from grad school and come back, y'all remind me why I'm embarrassed to say I'm from TN.

When I was in elementary and middle school, I had more than one or two friends (not LGBT) who truly relied upon the school counselors for more than academic advice and assistance. While I don't believe they were suicidal, the counselors certainly acted as important advice and stability figures in their lives. Students spend the majority of their waking hours in the school setting, whether it's in classes, tutoring, or extra curricular activities, and so it is important for school staff and administrators to take care of the students physically and psychologically.

Here's the story: Tennessee's Horrific "Don't Say Gay" Bill Could Get Even Worse
