Mitt Romney just keeps on high stepping
High
stepping through you-know-exactly-what: bullshit, flip-flopping gelatinous
ooze, and his homemade gaffes.
Here’s
yet another exciting and amusing chapter to add to the still exciting and
amusing bumbling of the future GOP-backed candidate.
I
know that Mitt must have an amazing
sense of humor. He had just got to be that hilarious guy at a party who
everyone wants to gather around as he tells stories and giggles. Too bad his
funnies don’t translate into non-elite parties.
Here’s
his latest story:
One of [the] most humorous I think
relates to my father. You may remember my father, George Romney, was president
of an automobile company called American Motors. ... They had a factory in
Michigan, and they had a factory in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and another one in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And as the president of the company he decided to close
the factory in Michigan and move all the production to Wisconsin. Now later he
decided to run for governor of Michigan and so you can imagine that having
closed the factory and moved all the production to Wisconsin was a very
sensitive issue to him, for his campaign.
A
couple tips, Mittster. It’s probably not wise to be a millionaire joking about
closing factories, laying off workers, impoverishing families, and economically
destroying communities when you’re a candidate to be a candidate. Also, it’s
probably not wise to make jokes at the expense of another state. Especially
when that other state is where you were born and raised, where you insist
you’re still “from,” and whose support you will need in the coming months.
Also, I like that you put in “having closed the factory and moved all the
product ion to Wisconsin was a very sensitive issue for him, for his campaign
[to be governor of Michigan].” Well, Mittster, it seems that you may run into
that same issue by telling this adorable anecdote of your powerful family.
Hey,
at least he didn’t move his production overseas! Heh heh. Am I right?
(Crickets.) Oops. I guess the Mittster’s brand of comedy doesn’t work for me,
either.
I’m confused, the people are confused, his staff is
confused, and the Mittster is still, predictably, confused.
So
the Mittster says that those who have been insured before should be able to
regain insurance, even if their employer does not provide it, they are
unemployed, they are insufficiently employed to gain insurance, they have a
pre-existing condition, etc.
He
also says that he believes that individuals should have insurance when they are
well, before they get sick, so that they can pay into the system that they will
later use.
This
sounds an awful lot like Obamacare.
Quick,
Mitt, shut up before the GOP hears you!
Violence against women is reprehensible – but only if it’s
violence against straight U.S. citizens women – the others can rot.
I’m
only going to make one comment, and that’s in regards to Sen. Jeff Sessions
(R-Al.)’s comment about efforts to renew VAWA:
… he thinks Democrats have politicized
the bill on purpose to make the GOP look anti-women.
Nope,
the Democrats haven’t done a damn thing. You Republicans done this to yourself.
Now do what you’ve never done before: take credit for your own bad works and
for giving yourselves a the bad image that you seem to be thoroughly enjoying!
